More than five decades of outstanding Mexican cuisine have made Maz Mezcal the favorite choice on
New York's Upper East Side. Your host, Mary Silva, has a family history dating back to a small 1930s
restaurant El Triangulito, famous for excellence in Mazatlan, Sinaloa Mexico. In 1948, her father-in-law,
Sr. Pedro Silva immigrated to the United States and continued the family tradition with El
Mirador. This restaurant served its distinguished clientele on 50th St at First Avenue. Later,
another restaurant bearing the name El Azteca, followed by El Sombrero, continued with the family
tradition of offering both their Mexican cuisine and unparalleled service. Today Maz Mezcal
represents over 50 years of a family run business on 86th Street on the Upper East Side.
